🏓 Canon Ef 24 105 F4 Review
On this review photographer Christopher Frost looks at two popular Canon zoom lenses the old and new EF 24-105mm f/4 to see what changed. The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM has been around for a long time not just as a kit lens for some of Canon’s full frame cameras but also as a general purpose zoom lens. The newer Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS
The DSLR 5D Mark IV with EF 24-105mm lens is on the left, and the new EOS R5 with RF 24-105mm lens is on the right. They are both hefty setups. They are both hefty setups.
The Canon is a very nice lens for the price. In fact, it's probably the lowest price USM zoom in the Canon line, and one of the best lens VALUES around. It's only about $50 more than the Sigma. There's simply no contest. Good luck. M. Chris wrote: Chris wrote: How does this lens compare with the Canon 28-105 lense? Also any reviews on the Canon
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Review 3.0 Average By Jim Fisher July 26, 2016 The Bottom Line The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens delivers strong sharpness at wide angles, but image quality
The RF lens lineup was full of incredible high-end models, but those looking for a compact, lightweight, economical RF mount general-purpose zoom lens were forced to adapt a lens such as the Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens. Adapting is no longer necessary. The long-awaited Canon RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM standard zoom lens is here.
Thanks, for this timely and useful comparison. I really do like my EF 35/2 IS, and have been contemplating adding a mid-range zoom, including the 24-70/4 IS, and, especially the 24-70/2.8L II. It may be better to save the money. (My “aging” former work-horse EF 24-105/4L is actually quite nice; no hurry to buy anything.)
Amazon.com. The Canon EW-83H Lens Hood is a short, conical-shaped "tube" that attaches to the front of the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens to shield it from extraneous light. This inexpensive accessory is a must-have for your camera system, as it helps prevent lens flare, ghost images, loss of contrast and other unwanted light effects.
The kit zoom is great - better than the EF 24-105 L. Adapted Canon glass works perfectly. Touch screen controls (ie, AF) are super fast - no lag. Jpegs sooc look great. I havent had time to mess with the Raw files in Lightroom, so not sure about dynamic range, etc. Been shooting some 4K with an adapted Canon EF 24mm (2.8 IS) and it really looks
EF 24-105mm f/4L IS Strengths: This 4.4x constant aperture L-zoom lens provides close to the perfect focal length for event photography (e.g., weddings, receptions) as well as travel photography with a full frame camera. Sharpness and contrast are very good wide open at f/4, but improve if stopped down to f/5.6.
As for lenses, the EF 24-70L f4 and f2.8 are currently £889 and £1799 here in the UK, so my point stands that Canon have set this new f4 lens price firmly in f2.8 territory. If Canon continues to provide no new APS-C offering and relentlessly greedy price hikes, I will definitely consider giving up on Canon and trying something else.
The RF 24-105 f4 kicks the EF 24-105 f4 ver.1 in the you know what. Canon RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM In-depth testing Latest Camera Reviews Beyond the studio
Virtually the same long reach as the 24-105 with 1.4x (135mm f/5.6 v. 147mm f/5.6), it's lighter than the 24-105/4L. Not to mention the wide-angle of 18mm and the convenience of not having to put a TC on/off. Check often at Canon USA or other outlets for refurbished. ~$440 (or less if you catch one of Canon USA's sales) 2) EF-S 55-250 f/4-5.6
